Bob Hoffman
Bob Hoffman’s career in motion pictures spanned over 50 years – the last 25 principally focused on visual effects and post-production at the multiple Academy Award-winning VFX studio, Digital Domain, and then nearly two decades at Technicolor where he oversaw much of company’s transition to digital services. While at Digital Domain, he oversaw the company’s theatrical release and awards campaigns for such films as True Lies, Apollo 13, and Titanic.
Earlier, as a freelance marketing consultant and publicist, Hoffman worked on many noteworthy films, including Stand and Deliver, Driving Miss Daisy, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, American Me, and the smash hit Speed.
Based on the success of Stand and Deliver, Hoffman developed and co-produced the 24-part Peabody Award-winning PBS education series Futures – based on the work of educator Jaime Escalante from his classroom in East Los Angeles. The series featured guests, including actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, pro basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, champion racecar driver Danny Sullivan, and world-renowned architect Frank Gehry.
Most recently, Hoffman authored Alchemy in Technicolor,an in-depth study of the company’s legendary color process widely considered ‘the greatest name in color.’
